LucidPlay

The Ruby Fire Household Orchestra has found a home in Wellington, New Zealand, on the radio, with the fantastic White Fungus Magazine. They'll play some tracks this Sunday on their weekly radio show The Lost Weekend at 6-8pm (NZ time). That's Saturday 9-11 pm in San Francisco. You can listen live streaming on the website http://www.vbc.org.nz/

White Fungus is a major progressive culture magazine that really got the experimental and political community  more active in New Zealand, and keeps up with very innovative artistic musicians. It's a great honor to be appreciated by them.

A noise band of sound art, similar in some ways to John Cage, we are avant-garde feral-play with wigs and utensils.

We rarely play traditional instruments, preferring to play the house itself.

The songs are used in the movie Lucid for Atlantykron, shown in Romania, and seen on LucidTantra in the Interpersonal Dynamics of the Aura set available through the web store page of this site. The songs are also seen in many surreal shorts by myself, which are now being published in magazines, such as issue 41 of LitChaos. The music is also found in our CD, Equinox Hymns, available through the web store, if you want to hear all the songs in the set, as there are 9 of them. It will also be in the soundtrack of my Tantra training movies coming out very soon, to complement the DVD I already have, Tantra with the World. You can also find us at various sites such as MySpace, Facebook, and ReverbNation.

I hope you spend some time with us and settle in.

This is a fun, avant garde experimental noise band in the tradition of John Cage. Most of the sound is made by household objects, such as hitting the flexible side of a metal shower stall, scraping across the grid of a fan, turning water off and on.....On a few songs, I play the dulcimer, and Peter Wilm plays the guitar, but otherwise, every sound is unconventional, spontaneous.

The core members of the orchestra are Paul C. Wilm and myself. The first CD, Equinox Hymns, are only us. Peter Wilm and Chris Lawson are the expandable band members. Peter plays equally with Paul and myself on the second CD, Mating Moon. Chris plays equally with Paul and myself on the third CD, Household Explosions. All of us are artists.

All are available through me, and are in the process of being available on Amazon.

All the music videos here are from the first CD. More to come, with great hilarity.

Ruby Fire music went to Romania. It is the soundtrack to the presentation video I showed as the VIP specially invited guest at Atlantykron.  Scenes of the orchestra are a big part of the presentation, and I taught students there to make similar music, to let go and get feral. All the members of Ruby Fire were in full absurd regalia in the movie presentation as well as being the soundtrack. And to top it off, Chris Lawson sings his song, "I'm the Night Watchman," for 600 people through the movie presentation.
